PLEXR PLASMA PEN AFTERCARE
Overview:
Plexr is a plasma device that creates controlled micro-injuries on the skin’s surface to tighten, resurface, and rejuvenate without traditional surgery. It’s normal to experience small carbon crusts, redness, and swelling as your skin heals. Proper aftercare determines your final results and prevents complications.
🌙 Immediately After Treatment (First 24 Hours)
✅ What to Do
Keep the area completely dry and clean.
Use only the aftercare cream or post-treatment gel provided by your provider.
If treated around the eyes, sleep slightly elevated to help reduce swelling.
If discomfort occurs, use Tylenol (acetaminophen) — do not use ibuprofen or anti-inflammatories, as they can slow the healing response.
You can use a cold compress around the treated area (never directly on the carbon dots).
Avoid touching, scratching, or picking the treated spots.
🚫 What to Avoid
No water or makeup on the treated area for 24 hours.
Avoid sweating, saunas, steam rooms, and workouts.
Avoid alcohol (it increases inflammation and slows recovery).
Don’t apply ice packs directly on the skin — wrap them in a clean towel.
☀️ Days 2–3: Swelling & Crusting Phase
What’s Normal:
Swelling may peak around the eyes or mouth — this is a normal part of the healing response. Small carbon crusts (tiny brown dots) will form and start to dry.
✅ What to Do
Continue applying the aftercare ointment 2–3 times daily with clean hands or a Q-tip.
Keep skin protected from the sun — stay indoors if possible.
If crusting feels tight, lightly dab healing cream without rubbing.
Stay hydrated and rest.
🚫 What to Avoid
Do not pick or rub off the crusts — they protect the new skin underneath.
Avoid cleansing wipes, micellar water, or anything with alcohol.
No retinoids, acids, exfoliants, or active skincare.
Avoid heat, sun exposure, and direct airflow (like hair dryers).
🌤️ Days 4–7: Flaking & Regeneration Phase
What’s Normal:
The crusts will begin to flake off naturally. Once they fall, you’ll see fresh pink skin underneath — that’s your new collagen layer forming.
✅ What to Do
Continue to keep skin moisturized with your aftercare balm.
Once crusts have fallen off, switch to a gentle cleanser and hydrating SPF 50 (fragrance-free, mineral-based).
Light mineral makeup may be applied once all crusts have detached.
Continue to avoid direct sun exposure and tanning.
🚫 What to Avoid
Don’t manually exfoliate the flakes.
Avoid makeup brushes, sponges, or towels that could harbor bacteria.
No facials, microdermabrasion, or lasers for 3 weeks.
Don’t use retinol, glycolic acid, or vitamin C until at least day 14.
🌸 Weeks 2–4: New Skin Maturation
What’s Normal:
Your skin tone may appear pink for several weeks — this is healthy healing. Collagen continues rebuilding beneath the surface for months.
✅ What to Do
Apply a physical (zinc or titanium-based) SPF daily — reapply every 2 hours if outdoors.
Continue using hydrating, gentle products (ceramide or hyaluronic-based moisturizers).
Optional: Add a calming serum or growth-factor cream if recommended by your provider.
🚫 What to Avoid
No chemical peels or resurfacing procedures for 4 weeks.
Avoid strong actives until your provider confirms full healing.
Avoid direct tanning or spray tans for 4 weeks.
